WOODSTOCKHOLMTHE BOOK

Woodstockholm The Book

Our ten-year anniversary celebration is in full swing here at Mosebacke Torg, and if you haven’t had a chance to come by and taste the best dishes of the decade yet—maybe we can come to you instead? In the form of a book!

Together with Aska publishing company, we’re now releasing the book WOODSTOCKHOLM—a book about us, who we are, and how we came to be. A book about our approach to food and drinks and service, and how to run a restaurant with humor, joy, and a sense of community. And not least—a cookbook with over 40 of our most memorable recipes, complete with detailed instructions and mouth-watering photos.

The book is available for purchase at askaforlag.com, in select stores, and at our restaurant, if you’re stopping by. It’s the perfect gift for someone who might not live in Stockholm, or for you who want to enjoy our themed menus not just now and then, but seven days a week!

Here’s what Jakob at Aska förlag writes: “The book about Woodstockholm gathers a large selection of recipes, and shares the story of how the restaurant came to be – how a furniture shop and a kitchen in a garage in Svedmyra became one in an old pizzeria in Södermalm, Stockholm. We let you meet everyone who works—or has worked—at the restaurant over the years. The most beautiful restaurant book of the year! A gift for the summer!”

Woodstockholm is a place where flavors and meetings are created without regard to traditional boundaries. It is a place where we want everyone to feel welcome and be able to enjoy food and drinks in a warm, playful and beautiful environment. We work with a dynamic menu that changes regularly – always built up around different themes.

We have a large selection of quality wines, often from smaller producers with high standards of sustainability and non-toxic production. Our alcohol-free product range is extensive and constantly evolving.
Please let us know if you have special dietary needs and we will do our best to meet these! Vegetarian food is not an option, it is a natural part of every Woodstockholm menu.

THE GRAND VOYAGE: provence

After three lovely months in San Sebastián, M/S Woodstockholm weighs anchor and sails out of the Bay of Biscay towards new adventures. We round the Iberian peninsula, pass through Gibraltar, and eventually berth somewhere off the shore of Marseille and the French Riviera. This will be the point of departure for the next leg of The Grand Voyage: the spring and summer destination PROVENCE.

One of France’s most colourful regions – a historic crucible where ancient Ligures, Celts and seafaring Greeks in time shared the first Roman province beyond the Alps – Provincia Romana (or just Provincia for short, from which the area got its name). What does such a place taste like?

Even the medieval popes of Avignon probably guessed that the popularity of aioli and tapenade would endure for 700 years, but perhaps not that salade niçoise could be ordered at every other summer café all the way up to Österlen (which by the way is called ”The Provence of the Nordics”). It is said that a bowl of bouillabaise contains all the colours of the rainbow: rosé, yellow ochre, olive, azure and lavender …

– Don’t wait Toulon or you’ll Nice out! Welcome, or as they say in Occitan: Planvengudas!
